Why a qualified installer matters
A home EV charger is a dedicated high-load circuit. It must be installed and certified by a registered electrician to be safe and to qualify for the SEAI grant.
What happens on the day
The electrician checks your fuse board capacity, runs a cable to your parking spot, fits the charger and tests it before showing you how it works.
If you notice burning smells, smoke, sparking, heat, exposed wiring or repeated unexplained tripping, stop using the affected circuit and contact a qualified electrical professional. Don't remove electrical covers or attempt electrical repairs yourself.
